I was more or less confined to my bed because I wasn't able to move and they had to teach me how to move everything again. I have no complaints about anything that they gave me. Both of them declined in overall health substantially when staying here. Understaffed, overworked, and chaotic. However, I do not recommend sending anybody here who has an intention of being sent home and improving after a hospital visit. My mom has been at Kane Ross Nursing Home for about six weeks now.

They’ve had people come in, like musicians, and they had someone bring a dog to visit. They just have a variety of things going on. When he’s in the wheelchair, and he’s wheeling some place and they see him, they’ll help him. Effective but not a Pleasant place to visit. Double rooms are really unpleasant and it is a shame that they are still used anywhere. My father was there after a stroke and he did recover well and I was able to bring him home eventually after having moved him to the assisted living facility upstairs.
But it’s way out of our price range. They weren’t encouraging people to get out of their rooms or out of bed or anything like that. They don’t do that, they just kind of leave them in their room all day. But they’re also there for rehab and they’re not very mobile.

They don’t have too many activities because of the virus. They only have bingo, they go outside, they watch movies, and stuff like that. They have a garden that has benches; it’s a big circle. They have community rooms, but no chapel.

If you have a loved one in this facility you MUST be vigilant in getting staff to adequately address their needs. My brother’s breathing issues were overlooked by the charge nurse for 3 days. When an aide caught it, my brother was taken by ambulance to mercy Hospital. He died of a lung infection 5 weeks later.if you can find another facility, please do so.
As far as the staff, some were great, and some were not. The meals probably for her were just not adequate, but it was a very secure place for her. My mom was at Caring Heights Community Care and Rehab. It's more of a nursing home because it's a rehab facility. They were able to take her to the PT gym to get her walking. She really likes the therapists, both PT and OT.
The facility is very clean, people there are like family so it’s good. If it were a brand new facility, I would have given it a five. It’s an old facility but it’s clean. The rooms are way too small, but the care she’s getting and the people there make up for the lack of space. They have Bingo and a few other games to play, and other things they try, but they don’t have a lot of room for big activities.
